WOERDEN – September 27, 2024. BluePrint Automation (BPA) has officially unveiled its new sustainable facility at Carrosserieweg 2 in Woerden. Designed by HD Architecten, the building reflects BPA’s commitment to innovation and sustainability, offering a healthy, inspiring workspace for employees while benefiting the local community.
A Sustainable Choice
“Our people make BluePrint, and they deserve an exceptional working environment,” says Martin Prakken, owner of BPA. “We’ve also ensured the building is appealing to neighbors and ecologically responsible.” Built with a wooden structure, the facility stores 655 tons of CO₂, equivalent to 5.5 million car kilometers. The roof features 1,462 solar panels and a 1-megawatt-hour battery storage system.
Healthy Work Environment
The workspace combines natural materials, ample daylight, and sustainable cooling without harmful refrigerants. “From the start, we prioritized creating an environment where people feel good,” says Dick van Weenen, who oversaw the construction. This focus on well-being makes the facility a model of a healthy workplace.
Local Collaboration and Involvement
The project was realized with the help of local contractors, strengthening regional partnerships and the economy. “We’re proud of our long-standing relationships with local businesses,” says Prakken.
An Asset to Woerden
The building aligns with Woerden’s sustainability goals, featuring facades of eco-friendly fraké wood and green walls that promote biodiversity and prevent overheating. Additional trees enhance its natural appearance.
Future-Proof Design
The flexible layout allows the facility to adapt to future needs, including the potential for division into multiple units. “This building meets today’s demands and creates space for future growth,” Prakken concludes.
